Derek has over 20 years experience in lighting various kinds of productions.
Being computer literate (but without being a geek!) I use a lot of different software packages to get to the end result. After initial meetings, should it be required, I use Google Sketch-Up Pro and CAST Software’s WYSIWYG to provide the client and myself with some ‘realistic’ visuals. Using these visuals the production can be “virtually” manipulated until everyone is happy.
Once everyone is happy with the visuals I use VectorWorks to provide technical drawings to which the clients preferred supplier(s) or my own can work to.
Once the suppliers have quoted and everyone has agreed I will supervise and get involved with the build, programming and operation of the final show.
I can look after other aspects such as set design using the same techniques above. With my other work in film and video I can combine all these areas to provide a cost effective and visually exciting show.
